Originally from Japan, Yuko moved to Berlin seven years ago and founded CATAVILLA — a brand born from a deep love for vintage treasures. The challenge of caring for traditional vintage kimonos, particularly outside of Japan, became the driving force behind CATAVILLA: a reimagining of the kimono as modern, effortless, and versatile everyday wear.Each CATAVILLA robe tells a story, embodying the individuality, charm, and uniqueness of custom-made treasures.

You can choose fabrics handpicked from natural materials sourced around the world.

Soak the fabric overnight to prevent washing shrinkage and check for colour bleeding.

Dry the fabric, iron it, and check for large linen slubs.

Select threads and lining in colors that match the fabric.

Japanese seamstress living in Berlin carefully sews each piece.
